• The Heat Treated Pallets

  • Why Heat-Treated Pallets Are So Popular

Heat-treated pallets provide a lifetime of use, as well as a solid and robust construction that won't bend, warp, or break. The temperature of the heat-treated pallets, crates, or boxes being treated is always maintained at a set level, which makes them safe to handle in any number of conditions. These pallets can be used for just about anything you can imagine when it comes to moving, storing, or transporting things.

You might think of heat treating as something that's done in a factory, but that's not the case. Instead, heat treating is done right at the warehouse or factory where it's needed most. Just because it's done in a controlled setting doesn't mean that the end result isn't just as effective if the treatment occurs in an outdoor environment. Another application that uses heat treated pallets comes when companies ship their finished products from one location to another.

Many manufacturers ship finished products in boxes instead of plastic crates since boxes have proven to be the most effective at containing moisture. Plastic crates can warp, especially in humid environments, which means that they won't stay as airtight as boxes. This means that companies often have to replace the plastic crates that they use when a shipment of pallets returns from damage in transport.

It's much more cost-efficient and more convenient for the company to simply heat treat the pallets and re-use them rather than have to purchase new crates. If a box has cracks or other forms of damage, though, it's probably not a good idea to reuse it, especially if the cracked area is near a known area of pest infestation.
